Seed SEF hires former CFTC General Counsel as CCO

Seed SEF is excited to announce that the highly experienced and respected compliance expert, C. Robert Paul, will be joining Seed as Chief Compliance Officer.

Bob Paul has practiced law for the past 36 years specializing in the regulation of futures, swaps and other derivative instruments. From October 1999 through January 2001, Bob served as General Counsel to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. As General Counsel of OneChicago LLC from 2001 to 2004, he played a key role in launching the first stock futures exchange in the US. He has since served in high-profile Compliance and General Counsel roles at the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, the Philadelphia Board of Trade, TW SEF LLC, DW SEF LLC and the Chicago Probability of Default Market, Inc. 

As a leading practitioner in matters pertaining to commodities, futures and derivatives, Bob has represented securities, futures and commodities exchanges, investment banks, broker- dealers, futures commission merchants, investment advisors, managed futures funds, hedge funds and other market innovators in a variety of transactions and has counseled them on a wide range of issues under the Commodity Exchange Act and US securities laws. Bob graduated as a Benjamin Franklin Scholar from the University of Pennsylvania, and earned his juris doctorate from the New York University School of Law.
