Seed SEF’s Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Edward Woodford, presented at the 12th annual World Exchange Congress in Budapest on March 30, 2017. Launched in London in 2005, the World Exchange Congress has been hosted in Istanbul, Madrid, Doha, Monaco, Dubai and Barcelona, and is regarded as the unofficial AGM of exchanges globally. This year, every continent was represented at the conference, with close to 100 trading venues represented. Mr. Woodford was invited to offer his unique perspective on exchange innovation.
Mr. Woodford’s presentation provided an overview of Seed SEF’s innovations, the structural and regulatory context towards innovating in the exchange and financial industry, and a perspective on how the new Trump administration may affect the ability of other trading venues to innovate. Organizer Liss Boot-Handford commented that “Mr. Woodford was one of our key speakers at the World Exchange Congress. Seed CX’s input was greatly received by the audience which was made up of  CEOs from exchanges around the globe, including CME Europe, Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange and Deutsche Borse.” Other topics of discussion at the conference focused on critical trends affecting the exchange industry, including cyber security, crowd funding, big data, crypto currency and post-trade automation.
